We will realize multicultural co-learning based on systematic liberal arts education from the bachelor's degree program to the master's and doctoral programs at the graduate school, with the interdisciplinary GS General Education Courses that are a distinctive feature of Kanazawa University as its component.

Programs to learn about topics that are significant to study in the region
Based on the interdisciplinary GS courses, which are integrated from bachelor’s to master’s degree,
We will develop Multicultural Collaborative Learning programs throughout the university.
″Introductions to Academic Life″subjects - Required for all first year students
″Introductions to Academic Life ″subjects consist of three courses: " Lecture on Life in Campus and Society," "Introduction to Data Science," and " Introduction to Internation and Region-studies," which teach the basics of university life, such as how to have a fulfilling university education and how to pursue a fulfilling university education. These courses incorporate content related to a multicultural society, including classes taught by practitioners from local governments and companies, discussions with international students, stories of those who have studied abroad and how to create a study abroad plan, and discussions with international students, in order to raise awareness of multicultural co-learning and problem-solving-based learning in undergraduate studies.
Multicultural Co-learning Basic
This is a required course for all students, which allows students to work with people from diverse backgrounds and recognize the diversity of ways of perceiving things and the importance of working with diverse people. In addition, in this″Multicultural Co-learning Basic″, we encourage students to change their own mindset through the experience of learning from multiple perspectives based on diverse cultural backgrounds, and place emphasis on acquiring an "attitude for communicating with others from diverse cultural backgrounds." For this reason, we also permit the use of generative AI in foreign language writing and conversation, with the aim of improving all students' ability to output their own thoughts. ″Multicultural Co-learning Basic″subjects will consist of GS General Education Courses ″KUGS Practice (tentative name)″ and the GS Language Courses EAP (English for Academic Purposes) I to IV.
GS General Education Course
"KUGS Practice (tentative name)"
This is a class where Japanese and international students learn together, based on group work and discussion. With the cooperation of the local community and industry, we will work together to tackle global and regional issues, such as the nature of international cooperation, gender and human rights issues, and our relationship with AI (artificial intelligence).
Multicultural Co-learning Advance
Multicultural Co-learning Advance will be positioned as a required elective course and will be offered to students who have a certain level of language proficiency or above and are motivated to take part in multicultural co-leraning. Through group work with international students, we aim to improve the multicultural attitude, qualities, and skills required of international citizens.
